For Anyone Who Doesn’t Believe in Fibromyalgia

Anyone who doesn't "believe" in Fibromyalgia hasn't been paying attention.

It was discovered at least 2000 years ago.

Here's proof.

Transcripts:

hey everybody I'm here with dr. Andrew
miles the author of the fibro Bible and
we're going to talk a little bit about
the history of conditions that are
similar to fibro and how long people
have been treating it with different
modalities hey there hi yeah this is
something that I think is very important
for people with fibromyalgia to
understand is that although the term
fibromyalgia and its recognition as a
actual disease has been a bit of an
ongoing uphill battle since the mid 70s
within the Western world that isn't to
say that fibromyalgia symptoms and
syndromes weren't very recognized by
different groups of people the Chinese
in particular recognized several types
of pain anywhere from eight to ten
causes of pain that were involving
everything from immune function to
digestive function to stress and lack of
blood circulation each causing very
distinctive types of pain and requiring
separate but overlapping strategies for
treatment and this goes as far back at
least 2,000 years where books with the
advent of the early printing presses
were able to be mass-produced so we know
about books like the Shanghai noon which
was written 2,000 years ago and they
speak very specifically the author does
about how this this types of pain will
first affect the back of the neck cause
tightness and are associated with immune
function and well today we would
consider immune factor balance and
lymphatic flow when we look at the
remedies prescribed at this time which
have been consistently prescribed for
the last 2,000 years we see that they
help to regulate immune factors in fact
one of the formulas that we use in the
early stages actually comes from this
book 2,000 years ago and it's been found
to have regulatory effects on immune
factors and is a powerful antiviral so
much so that given at high doses
intraperitoneal objections to my
who have contracted HIV they're able to
reduce the HIV it also works for just a
number of viruses because it helps to
block viral transcription viruses and
latent bacterial biofilms these are all
considered to be modern ideas but even
2,000 years ago one formula we find is
addressing regulation of immune factors
it's regulating stress hormones
it's scouring for biofilms and taking
those out and it's antibacterial
antifungal and it's interrupting with
that viral transcription so just one
single formula 2,000 years ago
was affecting all of these and that's
not to say that it was the best and
brightest over a two thousand year
period of time there's select formulas
that we really love from that but over
time it developed more so we have an
understanding of fatigue causing its own
particular types of pain
estrogen deficiencies testosterone
deficiencies causing specific types of
pain as far back as 1500 and a thousand
years ago and then these developments
continued up into the 1700s we have
increased nuance and understanding of
how micro circulation is affecting pain
as the Chinese began to do more
autopsies then some of these formulas
which were developed to three hundred
years ago have been found to regenerate
nerves which were thought to just be
long dead and beyond repair or the
ability to repair them by taking this
stage by stage were able to go and
really rest on the shoulders of two
thousand years of giants unlock the
hidden pharmacology to better understand
fibromyalgia no it wasn't invented in
the 1970s no it wasn't suddenly
appearing on the face of the planet
because of increased you know chemical
exposure yes that carries its own
challenges but people also had radiation
and chemical exposure from volcanoes and
other types of fungi in the
asked so we didn't invent air pollution
in the last 20 or 30 years we didn't
invent toxicity environmental toxicity
it's been around particularly is very
populated cities in Chinese history and
because of what they wrote down and
because of unfortunately the severe pain
of fibromyalgia patients in history
we're able to learn quite a bit about
how to not only alleviate the pain
symptoms but take people from a state of
severe pain and fatigue and get them not
just to a normal level but even take
them to the point where they can be
doing Taichi and become martial artists
because this has happened so many times
you hear in many martial art lineages
somebody is sick and in a state of pain
and they take them through the same
stages that we bring people through
today and then as a result they become
even stronger than your average person
so this is the hidden blessing I think
in fibromyalgia and it's been shown
historically as well that you can go
from a place of being weaker than your
average person but in learning to get
strong you can take yourself even
further that's really amazing what a
historical context to have behind you in
doing this kind of work and the science
to unlock it it's not just in the realm
of folklore or spirituality those things
are important the cultural context is
very important and as we look deep into
these science we can understand exactly
why and this gives us a much more
flexible constant context because we're
not going to suddenly become ancient
Chinese people and I know I've been to
acupuncturists and Indian medical
doctors and they'll say ok now you need
to do this chanting and do you know
eagie every day and it's a little bit
ridiculous for our modern context and
for cross-cultural exchange but when we
look at what is the essence of what
people were experiencing a thousand
fifteen hundred a hundred years ago
fifty years ago in East Asia and
unlocked by way of looking at the
science what is underneath that then we
have a very pure and flexible approach
can be applied with people
internationally is we have patients as
you know you know in the Middle East in
South America in the Arctic can
everyone's diet and approach be the same
no but we can all apply the principles
to our unique lifestyle and our unique
